The fossil show “Fossilien Boerse”, a dedicated event solely for fossils, was established after the last Petrefakta in 2014.
The inaugural Petrefakta took place in 1996, organized by Werner Karl Weidert, the former editor of the Fossilien-Magazin.
This Fossil Event achieved significant success and stood out for its unique feature: it exclusively showcased fossils and collector accessories.
Werner Karl Weidert was deeply involved in the event and a familiar presence at the show.
Even after the Goldschneck Verlag was handed over in 2004, he continued to support Petrefakta alongside the Quelle & Mayer Verlag.
After 19 years, due to organizational reasons, Petrefakta came to an end.
In its place, the Fossilienbörse (Fossil Show) was launched in 2015.
